The Worship Service this Sunday is the last regular service to be held in this Church and will be led by Elspeth Haynes and the service is themed around "Giving Thanks to God".
After the service there will be a bring and share lunch with music and games in the Community Halls downstairs. Everyone is welcome.
The service is available to attend in person at the Church or live online and an edited video of the service will be available on this website afterwards.
Earlier this year, the Church Council of Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church made the very difficult decision to close the Church and Community Halls on the corner of Bank Road and Oak Road at the end of August. Rising running and maintenance costs have simply become too great a burden. It is a sad and challenging decision, as generations of worshippers and neighbours have been blessed by this building for over a century.
But a church is not the building — it is the people. While we will be saying goodbye to these walls, the Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church family will continue to worship and continue God's mission together elsewhere. Though change always brings sadness, we are also hopeful and excited for what God has in store for the future.
We warmly invite you to join us again for our Celebration Service on Sunday 28th September at 3:00pm, followed by tea. Everyone is very welcome — especially if this building holds a special place in your heart. We would love to share this celebration with you.

The instructions for how to join the service online and other information are given below.
