The service on Sunday 16th July was led by Local Preacher Maggie Davidson supported by Steward Penny Brown. There isn't a video of the service this week. The service message used the life story of a Christian missionary who after a very strict faith filled early life, where anything other than faith was considered sin, then trained as a nurse and heard a message that transformed her life, that Jesus had died to bring forgiveness for sin, her sin. This change led to her focusing on using the gifts God had given to her to help others, that whatever is done to help another, is something that God has said is done for God. (Matthew Ch25 v40). The story of the missionary serves as an inspiration to use the different gifts God gives us to also help others. Within the message, there was another encouragement, that there is a choice to make between following the materialism of the world or choosing to focus on the life eternal, promised for each person by God. (John Ch3 V16). The missionary saved the lives of many both physically with her gifts as a nurse and spiritually by sharing the news of Jesus, the love of God and encouraging others to do likewise.
